The Art of My Travels

These are those pieces of art which I have seen and been moved by on my travels. For me each is linked to a personal experience as a traveled with friends and family. Most of these works were experienced while traveling through Europe from 2004 to 2007, but a few were found much closer to home in the museums of Washington, D.C.

This piece can b found within the Royal Palace of Amsterdam.
I saw this piece in The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. for a Van Gogh exhibit.
I saw this piece at the Tate while visiting my Aunt in London. It was a part of the "Turner, Whistler, Monet" exhibit in 2005.
The Van Gogh orchard series were some of my favorites while visiting the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam with my father in the spring of 2007.
I greatly enjoyed seeing paintings like this one of the time just before the French Revolution while visiting the Palace at Versailles with my mother in the spring of 2004.
Statues like this one by Michaelangelo were some of the highlights of my trip to Palazzo Vecchio with my mother in the spring of 2004.
The Musée du quai Branly has many diverse pieces from Africa, Asia, and the Americas. It was a unique experience to see pieces from around the world on my visit to Paris in the Spring of 2004.
From the Smithsonian American Art Museum, this is one of my favorite galleries to visit while strolling the National Mall.
I have a hard time appreciating modern art, but I always give it a chance while visiting the Smithsonian Galleries on the National Mall.
