Within this gallery I have decided to explore the idea of beauty and look further into the pieces of art that have challenged my immediate reactions. I am seeking to answer the following question; is beauty a subjective topic or one that can be defined by a "golden ratio", comparison or first impression? Within this question lies a much deeper one and that is "does beauty define art?" Sometimes when you look at a piece it is quite obvious that you are looking at art like starry Night by Van Gogh or the Mona Lisa by Da Vinci, but why? Why do we see those pieces and associate them with "art". In the pieces in this exhibition we will explore abstract art and how we find beauty in them.
