Design Principle - Balance
Exploring symmetry, asymmetry, and radial balance in artwork.
This image is symmetric if cut in half and has radial balance if cut into fours.
Symmetry cut down vertically, asymmetry if cut horizontally.
one would expect the chair to be symmetric but the backing has a design making it asymmetric in shape.
Symmetric if cut either way.
The distribution of the flowers makes this image asymmetric
Asymmetric, however, if cut in half and flipped the image is symmetric.
Asymmetric from this angle. If turned forward the pot is probably symmetric.
