Sandy Gibson

This piece uses light colors and little value, giving it a very cheery feel. The focus of the piece is clearly the mother and her child. The lines are very small.
This Degas is mostly form and line, just two dancers stretching at the barre. The color has very little impact on the overall feeling of the work. There's a lot of open space.
Unlike the other Cassatt piece in this gallery, this one uses dark colors and has a more filled space. The woman's form is very dark and makes it obvious as to what she is doing. There is a contrast between dress and skin.
