Mark Twain

Mark Twain is important to American literature because his works are an insight into American culture of the nineteenth century. People today find some of his social commentary offensive, and racist, however, it was an accurate depiction of the time. His most famous works include The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn; Tom Sawyer; and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs' Court.
