The odyssey gallery

Laocoon is the one with the large sized body, wild hair and beard, and is very muscular. The two sons are the ones on the sides that are smaller and smoother-limbed compared to the father. Laocoon was a Trojan prince who angered Apollo by breaking a vow of celibacy, resulting in Apollo sending serpents from the sea to kill him and his sons.
This sculpture shows Hercules shooting a bow and arrow. It captures the instant the arrow was released. The tension in his body was filled with spiritual energy.
