Culture Around the World

Each person who looks at a specific piece of art gives a unique and different perspective as to what that piece of art may mean to them. Meanings are created in part when, where, and by whom images are consumed and not only when, where and by whom they are produced. Taste is something that is learned through contact with culture but it is also something that one can studiously defy. This art gallery that I have created signifies the type of taste and the appreciation of culture that I feel I have. most pieces of art in this gallery are locations of places, and events which may have happened in those places. I enjoy travelling and visiting new countries and learning about their cultures and history; it makes me appreciate the world for what it is and what it once was. The images are able to work together with one another because they represent days in history which can be remembered as important historic times, each ties with it a new memory of what may have happened on that day. For example, the first image titled "Thinking of History at my Space" is an accurate representation of what I feel this gallery is really about; reflecting on the certain moments in history and how different aspects of life at those locations are.
