"The Holy Chapel"
Gothic style cathedrals were commonly equipped with fearsome sculptures called gargoyles to keep evil and demonic spirits away from the Holy place.
Example of Sculptural work found on the exterior front of Sainte Chapell Cathedral. The Gothic sculptural style leans into more realism than the byzantine style of earlier medieval art.
Gold Leafing very common of old style Medieval art known as the Byzantine style. The art also displays the characteristic style Gothic pointed arch.
