Islamic art frowned upon & discouraged the use of humans & nonhumans in art & veered toward the use of geometric shapes & figures. This shows a woman & child, which would not be found in Islamic art.
Much of islamic art used writing to portray their beliefs rather that pictures of god(s) like other cultures. This type of art was used for religious significance.
Art like this would be allowed in secular and luxury art but not religious, because of the figures of human/nonhuman present in this piece.
