Först en överblick, sen närmre personligare intryck och möten. De långa ljusa sommarkvällarna har inte riktigt kommit än, genom Eugène Janssons ögon är staden mörk men upplyst, romantisk och inbjudande. Buketten har förvridits av mörkret och tätnat, i avsaknaden av ljus från det ännu öppna fönstret.
