Emphasis of Color

The element that i chose was color!

This lovely painting drew my eyes because of the use of yellow/orange right next to the blue of the sea. the painter also tried emphasizing the green in the water by giving the rocks next to it a red color. Also the way that the yellow, orange, and red color on the right side was really interesting to me because it almost looks like an explosion. When looking at the painting for a while it almost looks like the green and white of the water on the right side almost flow right in to the red and yellow of the colors on the left. This give the painting such a beautiful effect which is why i chose to add it to the collection.
One of the reasons that i chose this image was the red in the very center of the painting. Also, the colors in this image almost act like part of the color wheel because of the order that they were used. The green in the front, then the orange (which is between green and red on the color wheel) and then the red, which is the opposite of green in the painting (and opposite on the color wheel) which is certainly something interesting. this was also shown once more towards the bottom of the painting with the use of green, then the people in orange, and then lastly the red square at The Lateran Convention of 1725 (1725)by Pier Leone GhezziNorth Carolina Museum of Art Link to a YouTube videoOne of the reasons that i chose this image was the red in the very center of the painting. This really got my mind going and was the main reason i chose this painting.
The one thing that really drew my eyes to this image is the deep red color of the canyons that is toward the bottom. there is also a bit of green that is used to show the vegetation around the painting and they also make that red color really come out. there is also a lot of emphasis in the canyon with the use of red all around the image.
This painting really had my eyes jumping all over the place because of the variety in color and i couldn't decide which part i wanted to look at first. One thing that really stood out to me, however, was the image of the woman on the bottom right corner of the painting. what i also noticed after looking at the painting for a while was how her clothing almost mirrors the sky in color and the fact that they are in exact opposite corners of the image. this is why i decided to add this painting to the collection
In this image, there is a wonderful use of dark and light. The color of the sun is really what drew me to this image. How the light almost has a "ray" effect and shots out to shine on the vegetation was done in a very clever way. i also find it fascinating on how the bottom right corner of the image almost flows in color to meet up in the brightness of color to the the opposite corner. Also, the yellow of the sun almost seems to spotlight the image of a figure on top of a rock, which i probably wouldn't have seen if those bright colors weren't there. This is why i chose to add this image.
This mask seemed very unique in color and was one reason why i chose it. Although there isn't a huge variety in color, it used contrast in the black and white of the mask to really emphasize those dark colors. what really drew my eyes was the use of red, especially on the circles on the sides of the mask which almost create a "bull's eye" in the middle of them.
The one thing that drew me to this image was the use of that wonderful blue color in the middle of the statue. The fact that it was outlined with that orange color really made the blue pop! there is also a variation of yellow, peach, and green all around the the statue. The contrast of the dark in the wings, along with the brighter color in the crown was very cleverly done and is another thing that draws in the eyes. The use of contrast and colors is why i chose this statue.
This image has such a variety of colors that it really stood out compared to a lot of other images i looked at. The green really pops, especially the darker green since the majority of this has very light colors.
The one thing that really stood out to me in this image is the white flow almost right in the middle of the painting. I think that because of the colorful flowers and that they are surrounding it are facing more away from it is what really emphasizes it. Although the majority of this painting is very dark, as you get more towards the center the colors get brighter and brighter and that is why i chose this painting.
This image has a slightly "dreary" effect to it and that is all because of the colors that were used. What really seems to stand out to me is the use of the bright colors in the middle of the image and how the darker colors almost seem to frame it. also, the colors in this image were used wonderfully in order to capture movement.
Although this image seems quite odd to put in this collection because it is very focused on the lines and the architecture, the reason why i chose it was the pink that really seemed to stand out to me. The fact that it is shown in every group of people, even the small emphasis in the middle, really makes the picture flow.
The one thing that really caught my attention in this image was the very bright sun that was painted on the right side. This also seems to be the focus of the image judging by the characters all looking at it. Another thing that fascinated me with this image was how the sun seemed to glow off of all the vegetation all around the scene, which gives it such a beautiful effect.
This painting was beautifully done and the reason why i chose is it because of the variations of color that were used. Although the image is not bright, because the middle of the canvas has that orange, it really makes it come to life. there were several different shades of blue and orange here too that i could not pass this image up.
The reason that i chose this image is because of the blue and the orange that immediately drew me in! especially how they both just flow right across the surface. especially since the only other colors are very light.
The reason why i chose this image is because it shows off a beautiful blend of colors, with blue being the most emphasized color to show off the clouds and the water. It also shows the use of orange/yellow right next to the blue to make the blue really stand out and also gives it a wonderful effect!
