JAMES COX III  Greek mythology plays a real historical role in art painting and sculpture. These pieces of art are dated back From AD to the 17th century and during the ancient Greek gladiator days. The intriguing thing about the pieces of art in the Greek design is they are always in some kind of movement. The movement of the statues and paintings seem to be strenuous because they definition of muscles are always a part of the figure on display. 

This sculpture of Venus shows her holding an apple in one hand and leaning on a tree stump with the other. The element has her on one leg, The principle of design has her weight and balance on one side. The emphasis seems to be on her and the apple. This statue has abdominal muscle enough though it's female
The movement of this sculpture has sharp energy and the definition of muscles are clearly in site, which seems to be the norm for Greek Mythology. Foggini, the artist of this Sculpture used some type of bronze material to complete this piece. The muscle in the abdominal area exhibits the classic Greek touch. The texture looks really smooth. The principle of design has two of the images off balance and weight on one leg.
This painting has a gladiator carrying and saving another with a kid tagging alone. The principle of design here is the lines are tall being one gladiator is carrying his counterpart. The unity is shown because the images are together in sync with one another trying to leave the situation. The muscle mass of each has the same results as many greek pieces of art.
This piece of sculpture show Hercules shooting an arrow with intense concentration. The texture of the sculpture seems to be made of stone and looks rough. Like most of the Greek Mythology sculptures you can see the excellent leg muscle definition. Bourdelle created what appears to be a gladiator competing. The movement shows extreme energy and the principle of design is rhythm because of how he's ready to shoot the bow and arrow.
The sculpture appears to be of Samson create by John Creere and has the look of determination in this piece. The principle of design is rhythm. This piece looks is made of stone. Like most of the Greek sculpture the subject doesn't smile and really putting emphasis on the downward movement will strong force.
The sculpture here has the texture of bronze and is created by Cipriani. The image is of a muscular man getting all wound up to throw a discs as if he's competing in a game of the strongest men of his time. The elements of this piece of art is his weight is on on leg and his movement will erupt in any moment.
This figure is of a well built person looking down as if his mind is not. The painting textured appears to look like it's made of stone. The element here is slightly hunched over and in contrast with his weight evenly distributed. With the most muscles I've ever seen in a Greek piece of art. The artist who is unknown has shown this image with a blanket hanging from his arm
The sculpture here is created by Cheere and he intended to show the trust of Adonis from Venus. The entire family is here with the kid and the dog. The texture is stone and the element here has two shapes. The elements has Adonis standing with the dog and Venus and the kid are both sitting. They are all in Harmony with the look of love for each other.
Here we have Hercules not smiling and has his vision on something not so distant away in front of him. The element of the piece has his with his weight on the right leg, which lets you know his balance is on one side. His muscle mass shows like most Greek sculptures. This sculpture has Hercules holding or hugging an eagle.
The sculpture has the bronze statue of Jupiter and the sculpture shows Jupiter holding some kind of towel or cloth. The element of design has him on the right leg. His spacing is slim from his stance. The principle of design with movement is only posing and holding. Like the many bronze sculptures the subject here doesn't smile and is concentrating on something.
