THIS IS A BIRDS EYE KIND OF VIEW OF THE VERSAILLES GARDENS. THE HEDGES AND PLANTS AND GREENERY WERE INTRICATELY CUT TO MAKE PATTERNS AND DESIGNS. THERE WERE MANY PLANTS AND TREES AND FLOWERS AND FOUNTAINS.
"APOLLO SERVED BY THE NYMPHS", BY GIRARDON AND REGNAUDIN SITS IN THE GROVE OF APOLLO. APOLLO IS IN THE CENTER AND THE WOMEN SURROUNDING HIM ARE THE NYMPHS. DURING WORLD WAR II THIS STATUE WAS MOVED TO A BOMB SHELTER.
THIS CHEST WAS COMMISSIONED IN 1774 TO THE CHAMBER OF KING LOUIS XVI AT VERSAILLES.THE BRONZE DEPICTED HERCULES WITH HIS CLUB AND MARS WITH HIS SHEILD AND SPEAR. HOWEVER THIS PANEL WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED DURING THE REVOLUTION.
