Out of the frying pan and away from the fire

Quotes are excerpts from the novella Anthem. The quotes relate to four main themes along with the images, they are determination, knowledge, equality and freedom.

"But here, in our tunnel, we feel it no longer. The air is pure under the ground. There is no odor of men. And these three hours give us strength for our hours above the ground"(Rand 46).
"It was not that the learning was too hard for us. It was that the learning was too easy. This is a great sin, to be born with a head which is too quick"(Rand 21).
"We can give our brothers a new light, cleaner and brighter than any they have ever known. The power of the sky can be made to do men's bidding. There are no limits to its secrets and its might, and it can be made to grant us anything if we but choose to ask"(Rand 60).
"We strive to be like all our brother men, for all men must be alike"(Rand 19).
