STILL LIFE

I have neither given nor received unauthorized aid on this work. -Sam Millendorf

The colors in this piece include orange red, pink, green, and brown. Form is shown with the table, fruit, and flowers because they all look 3-D. There is a lot of contrast between values in this piece that is made evident with the difference between the dark values in the background compared to the light values in the tablecloth. Texture is shown throughout especially with the knife and fruit because it seems like the viewer knows what it feels like without actually being able to feel it.
There are some dark values in this piece especially in the background. Pink, red, and brown are the main colors used. Form is shown within the piece because the instruments and other items look 3-D. Vertical, diagonal, and horizontal lines are used. The texture is made evident with the detail in the table cloth and piano keys. The viewer can't feel those items, but has an idea of what they would feel like.
There is a good amount of contrast between the values in this piece. The background has very dark values and the lighter items such as the melon have lighter values. There are curved, straight, and implied lines used throughout this piece. Implied lines are shown with the table that goes off the pag. Curved lines are shown throughout for the pears and melon.Texture is used greatly for the melon. The viewer can't really feel it, but already has an idea of what it would feel like. Brown, tan, and green are the main colors used in this piece. Form is shown with the melon and pears because they look 3-D despite the fact that it is a painting.
The lines in this piece include curved, vertical, horizontal, and implied. Curvy lines are used throughout the flowers and stems. There is a big curved line that creates an arch in the background. There are vertical lines on the sides of the arch and on the sides of the table the flowers are resting on. Pink, red, purple, green, yellow, and brown are all used in this piece. There are no dark values in this piece. There is a regular, geometric shape in which the flowers are sitting on and there is somewhat a semi-circle in the vase the flowers are in.Texture is shown throughout the piece especially with the flowers. It seems like the viewer can actually feel them or has an idea of what they would feel like. There is also texture in the table the flowers are on. It seems like it would be some type of marble or other smooth material.
There are diagonal, vertical, horizontal, and implied lines in this piece. Implied lines are shown with the table the fruit is on because the artist does not include all of it and it goes off of the page. There are dark values throughout especially in the background. The colors of yellow, orange, purple, and green are used for the fruit. Form is shown because the fruit actually looks 3-D. Texture is shown within the piece because even though the viewer can't feel the items, they have an idea of what it would feel like. An example of this would be with the table because it seems like concrete. The viewer also can't feel the fruit, but has an idea of what is feels like due to a combination of prior knowledge and the way the artist used lines and shapes.
