Warmth

My gallery is all about warmth although the paintings are from many different periods. From renaissance, baroque, impressionism, surrealism, pop art or abstract the colors are primarily warm and with some neutral. They all exude warmth due to their color or the overall mood and tone that they set.

I noticed that I repeatedly chose warm colors during our trip to the museum and decided this was a good place to start and explore. The compositions and techniques are well executed but this is more about how these works of art made me feel.

I chose this painting because of the love that's shown in the body language of the mother and child. Couple that with the warm colors of the woman's dress color contrasted by the cool green in the child's dress which makes the mother pop out in this loving composition of motherly love.
I chose this for the color, kinetic energy, and line speed of the brush strokes.
