In my virtual exhibition, I have chosen the dual theme of portraiture and the presidents of the United States of America. These nine men are person favorites of mine because of their work they did with our great country.

George Washington, Gilbert Stuart, 1797, From the collection of: The White House
In this portrait by Gilbert Stuart, Washington is in clothes than any man would wear. This picture captivates the feeling towards the president from the average person; he was one of them.
Thomas Jefferson, Rembrandt Peale, 1800, From the collection of: The White House
This portrait by Rembrandt Peale, is a public copy to everyone. This portrait by Peale is done by oil on a canvas.
James Madison, John Vanderlyn, 1816, From the collection of: The White House
This portrait by John Vanderlyn is an oil on canvas painting. In the White House there are portraits of every president hanging on the walls.
Abraham Lincoln Bust, Jo Davidson, 1943, From the collection of: The Valentine
Abrahan Lincoln was a huge factor in the freeing of slaves. He was a stand up man. In this portrait bust, I believe Davidson portrayed Lincoln as a stand tall man, just like the world saw him.
Mosaic Portrait of Theodore Roosevelt, , Manufacturer, 1904 - 1904, From the collection of: Corning Museum of Glass
Theodore Roosevelt was known for his take on being adventurous. He was an explorer. I think even in this mosaic portrait, you can see the side of Teddy that has the need to explore.
Franklin D Roosevelt, Hulton Archive, 1935-01-01, From the collection of: Getty Images
FDR is an awesome part of American history. Franklin made so many positive impacts and I think the way Archive captured this portrait is amazing. You can see his optimism in his smirk.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Aaron Shikler, 1970, From the collection of: The White House
JFK was the 35th president of the United States. During his term, we made progress in America. For example the support he gave to the space programs. He was an activist for making America better.
Lyndon B. Johnson, Peter Hurd, 1967, From the collection of: Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery
Johnson was a book worm, so I find it interesting that Peter Hurd decided add the book to this picture. Not only that, this portrait is a mosaic unlike most portraits of former presidents.
George Herbert Walker Bush, Ronald Norman Sherr, 1994/1995, From the collection of: Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery
George H. W. Bush had a big attraction to forge in policy. In this portrait, I feel like Ronald Norman Sherr shows the determination in Bush's facial expression, that Bush had for all of his projects.
