View near Monasterio de Piedra, Aragon, Carlos de Haes, 1856, From the collection of: Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga
This art piece is of the banks near River Piedra. This is a beautiful painting of nature and also as a lot of colors which goes great with my theme. It has a couple different shades of blue in the sky, different shades of color of the rocks and trees. If you look closely at the painting you will see that this is a very detailed painting of the river and surrounding area. There is also a guy sitting on the rocks near the river and all of his goats through out the area. This painting is also great with using proportion, parts of the painting are different sizes and amounts but everything balances each other out and make it a great painting.
Beach at Estepona with a View of the Rock of Gibraltar, Fritz Bamberger, 1855, From the collection of: Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga
This is an oil on canvas painting of the beach at Estepona, it uses all kinds of colors with a lot of different shades. It has different shades of blue, brown and green. This painting also shows some light and some shade. This painting is like panoramic picture of the beach, it shows the beach, the ocean, trees and even has some people riding horses on the right side of the painting. I would say this also has the proportion principle element because of how far back the painting looks and how much smaller things get as you look further back into it.
Mountain Landscape, Agustín de Riancho, 1884 - 1890, From the collection of: Fundación Banco Santander
This is an oil on canvas painting of a Mountain Landscape. This painting looks like it is in the shape of a "U", and has a lot of depth in it because it looks like the river goes a long way and that the trees are far away. This is a great painting of nature and colors. It has different shades of green for the trees and grass. It also has different shades of blue for the water and sky. This painting even has symmetrical balance, on each side of the river it has the same amount of trees and everything is well balanced together, it makes the painting great as a whole.
Death nature with shooting gear and flowers I, Jean Baptiste Oudry, 1715, From the collection of: Fundación Banco Santander
This is an oil on canvas painting. It looks like there is a lot going on in this picture because of so many things in one place. If you start at the bottom you will see that there is a big pile of dead birds and on the right side, a dog laying down keeping watch. There are a lot of flowers and leaves which would give this painting the organic shape formal element, everything is also surrounded by cupid statues. This painting would also have the emphasis/focus principle because I first notice the dead pile of birds because of the light shining onto so that would be the focus of the painting. In this painting there any many different colors in it, the main colors in this painting would be pink, white, blue and green with types of tones.
Seascape. View of the Bay of Palma de Mallorca, Antonio Muñoz Degrain, ca. 1905-10, From the collection of: Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga
This is an oil on canvas painting and it has very many colors to it, there are different shades of purples, oranges, yellows and blues. The brushstrokes in this painting are very different mostly thick strokes but some are also thin. In this painting there are a lot of boats, there is a steam boat and a row boat. If you look closely at the row boat you will see the guy standing up and then right behind him there is a girl laying her head on the back of the boat, I would say she is either tired or could be sea sick. The colors of the mountain really pop out and makes this painting a great one.
Strolling beneath the Trees, Eduardo Vicente, 1965, From the collection of: Fundación Banco Santander
In this painting we can observe the people strolling under tree, enjoying the view and sitting at tables to relax. This painting has different tones of gray and brown. The colors that are used make this a light and calm painting. Looking at this painting, I think of a winter wonder land even though there is no snow on the ground, the gray tones used for the trees kind of looks like that there is snow on the trees.
Rocky Landscape, Ramón Martí Alsina, 1887, From the collection of: Fundación Banco Santander
In this painting you will first notice the rocks, hints the name Rocky Landscape. You will also notice some trees, grass and sky. This painting is mostly made up of different tones of brown, green and blue. This painting also has depth and if you look at the sky part of the painting, you can tell that his brushstrokes are thick and loose. This is a pretty painting of the rock, mountain landscape.
Landscape, Modest Urgell, 1839 - 1919, From the collection of: Fundación Banco Santander
In this painting we can observe what looks like an abandon home. His paintings often represent a rural landscape. He mostly used different tones of brown in this painting, he also used different shades of gray and green. This painting gives a sense of calm but also gives out wonder. When I first look at this painting I feel like I wonder why this place was abandon and wonder what the story is behind it.
Mountain Landscape, Joost de Momper, 1625 - 1630, From the collection of: Fundación Banco Santander
Looking at this painting you first notice the depth in it and notice all of the mountains in the background. You can see a small town in the background near the water and up close there is a church, a guy on a horse and some people standing around. Most of this painting has a dark tone to it but as you look further into it, you can seem light. In this painting there are a lot of colors, from different shades of brown, blue and green and the color black is also used because of the darkness in the painting.
Rest Halt for an Arab Caravan, Ricardo de Madrazo y Garreta, 1877, From the collection of: Fundación Banco Santander
This painting we can see some camels and people standing around and what looks like water puddles on the ground so they may just been resting after it rained or something. Looking at this painting you can tell the brush strokes are very loose and some are thick, also it has many colors. It has a lot of different tones of brown, blue and some gray.
