Bournville Village was developed by George Cadbury to provide attractive and healthy living conditions for workers at his family's nearby cocoa factory. William Alexander Harvey was engaged by Cadbury in 1895 to design workers' cottages for the estate. Harvey later set up his own practice and continued to design for Cadbury. In 1974 consideration was made list 77 Willow Road for its special architectural and historic interest but it remains unlisted.
