A painting by the South African artist Alfred Krenz (1899-1980) titled Winter landscape, Blaricum Holland. The town of Blaricum is in the Province North Holland in The Netherlands. Krenz lived in Blaricum in The Netherlands from 1938-1940. Short Biography: Alfred Frederic Krenz was born in Vienna Austria in 1899. Between 1918 and 1926 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He moved around Europe and lived in Italy, France and The Netherlands before the Second World War (1939-1945) where he was stationed as part of the German Luftwaffe in Paris. In 1949 he immigrate to South Africa. He opened an art School in Cape Town in 1952. He still travelled extensively to The Americas, Spain, Israel and The Netherlands Antilles. Krenz was awarded an honorary Professorship from the Vienna Prix de Rome in 1958. He died in 1980 in Cape Town.
