J.D. Ichenhauser, President of the Anglo-American Fine Art Co.; sold, Fifth Avenue Art Galleries, New York, 23 March 1911, lot 89, as ‘V. Bombacio’; there purchased by Gari Melchers, by whom bequeathed in 1932 to his wife Corinne, by whom donated in 1942 to the Commonwealth of Virginia Belmont Estate along with her husband’s collection, the management of which passed in 1957 to the Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg; Sale, C.G. Sloan Co., Betheseda, MD, 19 November 1989, lot 1954, as ‘Bombazio’; Private Collection, USA.
