Composition in tones earthy, yellow, ochre, green, blue, red, violet, lilac and gray. Smooth texture. The work could be divided into three large representative It depicts three episodes in the history of Brazil: the indigenous and the arrival of the Portuguese; Anchieta writing in the sand and catechesis; and independence. The scene are depicted against lanscape of sea and mountains, interspersed by long tree trunks. In the foreground, from the left to the right: an Indian standing with her back facing a tree trunk in front of him; two indigenous standing, as if looking at the first; one lilac moringa on the ground; group of naked indigenous, also on foot, with arrows on his shoulders, facing left; kind of gourd turned down. The Anchieta figure is a little on the left of center ahead, standing with his head down, writing in the sand with a long pole. In the center, a little ahead of Anchieta, you see part of a boat. Proceeding from the center to the right, in the foreground, a horse from the front, with the head to the left; a box on the floor; a man lying face down on the floor, as if drinking water represented by narrow blue strip along the lower on the right edge; two white horses - the first of back and the other forward, with his head and a rider on it with the on the right arm raised. In the background, on the left, large group of indigenous - forming a mass of color - back in attack position, with arrows pointing in the direction of two caravels, which are at sea in the background. To the right of the group, on the ground, a lot of stones. At the center, a group of indigenous sitting around the fire, with a back on the right horse and behind a large hollow. From center to on the right: Knights of troops forming a large "S", led three horses side by side diagonally from the left to the right and from front to back - the first in earthy tone, the second in ochre and third blue - ridden by riders, with the medium carrying a standard. A little after, three horses side by side oriented to the right, also mounted for horsemen, and the front standard in the other hand. Geometrized floor areas of different colors, predominantly yellow, and background mountains.
