Oval beads are found in treasures and graves from the late 9th to the early 12th century. They are most densely found in western and central Poland. In Silesia, they were recorded in 4 treasures: Kowale, the vicinity of Małkowice, Gębice and Cienkowice and in 2 cemeteries: Opole-Groszowice and Krzanowice.
