Beethoven-House Bonn

Beethoven-House Bonn
Bonn, Germany

Already at the age of thirteen, Ludwig van Beethoven played as second organist with the Bonn Hofkapelle. By then he had already been taking lessons for eight years and often substituted for his teacher Christian Gottlob Neefe.

In 1944 the organ in the Menoriten Church was destroyed. However, the console on which Beethoven had once played had already been removed during alterations. It is now in the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn.
