Batt bel marta - is a duck stuffed and cooked with onion. It is typically served on the first day of Ramadan in Port Said. It is uncommon in Egypt to stuff duck with onions, but in Port Said the close proximity of Egyptians and foreign communities linked to work for the Suez canal, the Christmas Turkey stuffing practice was locally adopted and adapted to a duck dish.
