Expecting the young queen to return from the mating flight

Bees communicate with pheromones (smells). When they create
an air current with their wings, mixed with the smells typical of
their hive, they help young bees on orientation flight to find their home. Worker bees lift upwards the pheremone secreting gland on the abdomen so that the gland is clearly visible.
