The painting was probably not executed personally by Bernardo Zenale, but by one of his collaborators who perhaps worked to his master's cartoon. The scene is set in the courtyard of a building that recalls early sixteenth-century Milanese architecture, where architectural classicism coexists with typically Lombard motifs such as bronze capitals, balustrades and plant-candelabra columns.
