This set of pipes is made in ebony with silver and ivory mounts, all of which would have been quite expensive. The silver sections were made by silversmiths Robert and Henry Bruce Kirkwood who were based in Edinburgh. It has one bass drone and two tenor drones, each of which plays one note while the musician plays the melody using the chanter.
