Leonardo Bazzaro (1853-1937), a Milanese painter, began experimenting with landscape painting in the 1880s, adhering to the poetics of Lombard naturalism of which he is considered one of the most original exponents. In the work "In the Garden" a group of girls in pink dresses and straw hats enters a bright and green garden followed by a woman screened by a parasol. Seated and leaning on the railing of a veranda, two elegant female figures watch amused the passage of the colorful group.
