After a heavy snowfall, three silvereyes are playing on a camellia tree. Shiho wrote “Snow is silent. It is like poetry with no words and music with no sound.” and “…Buntings cannot make a difference in the snow, but silvereyes scattering snow to move from branch to branch have the rhythm. A beautiful world of flower and bird paintings is in such dynamism. This is what we should review in a new way.” in his book about his sense of art in 1940. This painting was completed as a flower and bird painting as a continuum of snow, silvereyes, and camellia. It expresses Shiho’s love for these objects.
