Arrival of the Turkish Armada. The map of Malta depicts the activity which took place when the Turkish armada arrived off Malta on the 18th May 1565

Assault on the post of Castile. Failing in their attempt on St Michael, the Turks ordered an attack on the post of Castille. The attack lasted almost a week. A breach was made, but the Grand Master's presence again rallied the Knights and the Maltese, and the Turks retreated when the cavalry from Mdina made a sortie and attacked the undefended camp of the enemy.
