Emilio Praga (1839-1875), a poet and writer from Lombardy, drew inspiration from his travels for his artistic production, which he cultivated for about ten years, participating in the annual Exhibitions of Fine Arts in Brera from 1859 to 1866 and once more in 1870. A leading representative of the “Scapigliatura” movement, he explored the study of the landscape in his pictorial research. Despite the limitations of his art, he is a talented landscape painter. In “Landscape", he moves away from the academic signature of purity and polished color drafting, using a loose and free expressive style.
