Liza Grobler was Social Fabric artist-in-residence exploring mohair. In this mohair-based art work, Liza Grobler turns a textile associated with winter into something that's about summer, a mohair "jelly fish" that's floating in a suburban swimming pool. In so doing, Liza explores unconsidered characteristics of mohair such as that it floats (the pool tubes do help but are mainly there for aesthetic reasons), and that its texture changes when spray-painted (from soft and shiny to matt and felt-like).
