This engraving presents a view of Loch Katrine, Stirling, with Ellen's Isle visible in the middle distance, and Ben Venue in the background. Loch Katrine provides the setting for Sir Walter Scott's The Lady of the Lake (1810). Following the success of the poem, the Loch and the surrounding Trossachs region became major tourist attractions. The print was engraved by Thomas Picken after a drawing by Horatio McCulloch.
