This panel painting comes from the Church of Santa María la Mayor in Albalate del Arzobispo (Teruel). It was completed under the patronage of Don Dalmau de Mur y Cervelló, Archbishop of Zaragoza between 1431 and 1456, whose coat of arms is held by an angel at the base of the composition.

The scene centers on the Virgin Mary, who is sitting on an architecturally ornamental throne in the Gothic style topped with a canopy. She is surrounded by little angels arranged at different levels on both sides and playing beautiful musical instruments. The scene is enhanced by its abundant gold.
