Model of the French war frigate La Felicite

Model made by prisoners of war in jail and confinement areas. They made them with the aim of both killing time and to give or sell them to the prison guards. These models made by prisoners are known as hulk or prison ship models. This one shows the French frigate of war La Félicité, with its 46 cannons and three masts (the first section of the masts is ivory, while the remaining sections are made out of wood). The model is made from branches and lined. It has a figurehead of a woman.
