Het oorspronkelijke bijschrift luidt: “Oost en west ontmoeten elkaar, vrouw van kokki in Agats”. De vrouw komt uit het dorp Sjoeroe en haar man is dus waarschijnlijk als kok in dienst bij de
Nederlandse missie in Agats.

The original caption states: “East and West meet; ‘kokki’ (cooks’) woman in Agats”. The woman comes from Sjuru village and her husband probably worked as a cook at the Dutch mission in Agats.
