The Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam, the Afrika Museum in Berg en Dal and Museum Volkenkunde in Leiden merged their collections in April 2014 to become the Nationaal Museum van Wereldculturen. The permanent displays and regularly changing temporary exhibitions in all three locatioins showcase objects from all over the world that tell a story about humankind. Stories about universal human themes like mourning, celebration, ornamentation, prayer, conflict; stories that inspire visitors to find out more about the huge cultural diversity to be found in the world.
