The painting portrays Antonio Veronesi who, together with his wife Teresa Madinelli, was among the most lively and modern collectors of the Verona of the 1910s. The figure of Veronesi, dressed in ivory, sitting and immersed in his thoughts, stands out against a dark background, bordered on the sides by green curtains.
