RIGO BILUM

The five categorys of Rigo bilum pieces are found in Central Province. Other Southern region socieites have their own traditional bilums. The Rigo bilum pieces have distinct local dialect names and serve different purposes and occupy distinct cultural spaces in societies they represent. The bilum has common features of national colors, bilum structure and designs and patterns. The pig, baby, garden and bilum wear pieces are lost and need to be revived and preserved.
