The death original mask and the cast of Brusov’s wrist made by Sergey Merkurov, a prominent sculptor of Armenian-Greek origin. Merkurov was a People's Artist of the USSR, an academic at the Soviet Academy of Arts, and director of the Pushkin museum of Fine Arts (1944-1949). He is considered to be a great master of post-mortem masks.
