Angelo Dall'Oca Bianca’s painting of the Symbolist turning point is "The Loves of Souls", presented at the National Exposition of Turin in 1898 and awarded with the Gold Medal at the Universal Exposition of Paris in 1900. The subject is detached from the refined and often obviously artificial pleasantness of his works, presenting an adhesion to the divisionist movement. Exhibited again in Verona in 1908, the work was bought by the engineer Rodolfo Angheben, a city councillor, who later gave it to the city.
