Indoor scene with four females wearing Aragonese countryside dress. On the left in the foreground there is a mature woman sitting in profile with a ceramic container on her lap. She is talking animatedly to another two women who are standing alongside; a young girl completes the group. Three of the characters have their hair in a bow known as a quiquiriquí: the finishing touch for female farm worker dress in Alcañiz near Castelserás. The title reflects a typical subject in symbolist painting: depicting the three stages of life (childhood, youth, and maturity), but this painting is a costumbrista version that has lost all symbolic meaning by introducing four figures and having the realist costumbrista feel dominate. It is on deposit from Zaragoza Council.
