The legend of the werewolf, whose origins are lost in time, was born in Europe and describes a man who transforms himself on the nights of the full moon into a kind of wolf-man and seeks out his victims to kill them or suck their blood. In Brazil, where it has taken on some particularities, it is believed, for example, that the son born into a family after seven daughters will fall under this curse. Mário Teles' piece seems to make no distinction between presumed men and wolves.

  • About Creator: Son of G.T.O. (Geraldo Teles de Oliveira), Mário Pereira Teles (1942) watched his father sculpting since he was a child. He soon became his assistant, but only at the age of 28 did he launch himself into this art. Today he lives in the house where the G.T.O. Museum is located, in Divinópolis, and it is in the backyard that he continues his work. Although he remains faithful to the compositions formed by links of human figures, like his father's, he has a predilection for the folkloric and musical themes of Minas Gerais.
