Enrico Sorio (1862-1907), a pupil of Napoleon Nani at the Academy of Painting in Verona, participated in several local exhibitions and was a contributor to the Veronese weekly "La Ronda". Views of his hometown and genre scenes are the main subjects of his painting activity. His favorite places, which he loves to paint at different times of the day, are Piazza Erbe and the Acqua Morta Canal, as can be seen in the "View of the Acqua Morta Canal".
