A "vinta" (also known as "binta" or "baroto") is a traditional Philippine boat made by hollowing out a tree trunk. It is an open vessel without a rudder or keel and is propelled by oars or paddles. The prow and stern curve slightly upwards. It is a very fast, lightweight boat between 26 and 39 feet (8–12 meters) in length.
