World War I German FA Mehlem Propaganda plate. This plate inscribed in Dutch, “Eendracht Maakt Macht” meaning “Unity in Strength” is the national motto for Belgium. It depicts a man and a red rooster fleeing from honey bees, symbolising Belgium fleeing from imperial France. The plate is from the FA Mehlem Factory in Bonn in Germany, and pottery wares were served as war propaganda to convince the Belgian nation to join Germany.
