  • About Creator: Orphaned at the age of three, he was left in the care of his grandmother, a potter from Alto do Moura. And, like almost all the boys in the region, he used the leftover clay to fashion little animals, which both served as toys and earned him a few bucks when he sold them at the market in Caruaru. Years later, when Master Vitalino arrived with his figures and types, creating a school, Manuel stood out and, with his brother-in-law, Zé Caboclo, strengthened the movement, exchanging experiences and results with the master.
