CAMUSAC Cassino Museum of Contemporary Art is a new structure for contemporary art, created in 2013 with the renovation of the Longo S.p.A. industrial buildings, at the foot of the hill where the ancient Abbey of Montecassino has stood for over a thousand years. The aim of the Museum – which holds the private permanent collection of the Fondazione CAMUSAC, the result of the methodical collecting of art over a period of more than twenty-five years – is to contribute to the cultural growth and development of southern Lazio, which already has many sites of archeological, historic and religious interest. The CAMUSAC therefore offers another cultural instrument alongside the University, the State Art School, the Fine Arts Academy of Frosinone and other institutions with which it has ties.In addition to the Permanent Collection, the CAMUSAC periodically organizes exhibitions of works by important artists who emerged during the 20th and 21st centuries. Along with the exhibitions, the cultural offer is completed by conferences, research seminars, conventions, workshops and guided tours conceived in collaboration with public bodies, museums, and cultural and educational institutes in Italy and abroad.
