The Reference Center for Environmental Information (CRIA) is a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest that works as a network to make information about Brazil´s biodiversity accessible to all. The stories based on Flora Brasiliensis (1840–1906) were developed in partnership with INCT-HVFF (National Institute of Science and Technology – Virtual Herbarium of Flora and Fungi). CRIA’s initiatives are guided by the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) and CARE (Collective Benefit, Authority to Control, Responsibility, and Ethics) principles, ensuring open data practices that also respect the rights, cultures, and knowledge of Indigenous and local communities.
